Base backpackers Located on the Magnetic Island, only minutes by car from the ferry landing, the base is 20 min away by ferry from Townsville. It is a pleasant island with good beaches and a lot of wildlife and is claimed to be the only backpackers on the beach in Australia.||Here guests are invited to learn to dive on Magnetic Island, one of the best value places in Australia, go koala spotting on a bush walk, sea kayak around the island or horse ride bare back on the beach. The base offers excellent value for money. It has on-site dive shop.
